abc12news WJRT, Feb. 5, 2026 - The Lapeer community had plenty to say after the Superintendent of the Lapeer Community Schools ordered over 80 books removed from Intermediate and Secondary school libraries. An unidentified community member sent the Superintendent an email saying a far-right conservative site, takebacktheclassroom.com, had declared the books either sexually explicit or covering sensitive topics.
