Is this misdirection or manipulation?  Or...? You be the judge.  Peggy Brotzke used this photocopy of an illustration  from the 2021 edition of Robie H. Harris' book, "It's Perfectly Normal"  to demonstrate why she believes access to this book should be restricted in the Lapeer District Library. .  BUT- library administration confirmed the LDL has never owned the 2021 edition of this book.  Before the book was checked out and "lost," the library owned an earlier edition that didn't include this illustration.  Do you wonder why Ms. Brotzke misled people in this way?

LDL Secretary Brotzke Pulls a Stunt

At the October meeting of the Lapeer Township Board, LDL Board Secretary Peggy Brotzke ignored Public Comment rules and addressed the camera instead of the Board.  Interestingly, the illustration she displayed is from the 2021 edition of the book "It's Perfectly Normal" by Robie H. Harris, which administrative staff confirmed the LDL HAS NEVER OWNED.  Is this misdirection or a lie?

"Read-In 4 Freedom! 1.0," June 19, 2025

Thank you for reading with us! Fight 4 the First Lapeer held a Read-in 4 Freedom on June 19, 2025 at the Marguerite DeAngeli Library in Lapeer, Michigan. Many folks enjoyed banned books. We had readers of all ages showing their love for the library.
